Hong Kong switches on lighting fairs in October

Hong Kong showcased its innovation and technology (I&T) strengths at three fairs last week, including the first-ever InnoEX co-organised by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), held concurrently with the Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition) and Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Spring Edition).

The inaugural InnoEX promotes Hong Kong’s strengths in innovation and technology.

Cutting-edge technologies draw buyers

The first-ever InnoEX, jointly organised by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), which is running in conjunction with the HKTDC Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition) and HKTDC Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Spring Edition).

Global technology achievers converge at three tech fairs, unlocking trends and helping enterprises stay ahead of the curve.

Inaugural InnoEX launches

The HKTDC Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Spring Edition) is an excellent trading platform that showcases an extensive array of innovative and top-notch lighting products and solutions, creating bright business opportunities for buyers to explore. The events are expected to draw strong interest following the end of travel restrictions and dropping of the mask mandate.

Exhibitors and buyers set to flock to Hong Kong after COVID measures fall away.

International Lighting Fair

A well-established technology and innovation hub, Hong Kong is making strides in a range of fast-developing sectors such as healthtech and green technologies apart from being a major exporter of electronic products.

Suppliers from 18 countries and regions flock to seven trade fairs in the city to showcase their innovations.

Hong Kong shows tech spurs

The HKTDC Hong Kong International Outdoor and Tech Light Expo, provides a bright opportunity for suppliers of outdoor lighting, professional and industrial lighting, and advertising lighting to tap new business opportunities.

Outshining the competition

Hong Kong International Outdoor and Tech Light Expo

The recent Guangzhou International Professional Light and Sound Exhibition presented a variety of new products across an array of related fields, including entertainment, architecture, commerce and cultural tourism. Overall, miniaturised, integrated and portable intelligent products dominated, while outdoor items – unsurprisingly given the pandemic – also showed considerable growth.

Domestic cultural tourism is helping Mainland Chinese lighting suppliers weather the COVID-19 downturn, according to exhibitors at a recent Guangzhou trade fair.

Lights shine bright at home

Nationally and internationally regarded as the capital of Mainland China’s lighting industry, Guzhen – a town just to the northwest of Zhongshan city in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area – has been particularly hard hit by the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.

Producers in China’s “city of lights” wasted no time in marketing their wares online as COVID-19 movement restrictions dimmed physical retail trade.

Online malls light up

For hundreds of thousands of suppliers and buyers looking to continue with business despite COVID-19-induced travel restrictions, a convenient solution is at hand.

For traders remaining homebound amid the current pandemic, there’s only one way to go – online.

Virtual fair, real business

Robots will take centre stage at four major electronics and lighting fairs in October.
