Large-scale exhibition to feature vast selection of lighting products with a focus on health and well-being

The Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition) and the Hong Kong International Outdoor and Tech Light Expo are expected to draw thousands of trade visitors to the city in October.

The events offer a stimulating program of seminars, forums and networking events, in addition to viewing displays and product demonstrations by lighting suppliers across the globe.

Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition) will open on 27 October at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and close on 30 October. Exhibition zones will cover commercial and residential lighting as well as LED and smart lighting solutions.

Running from 29 October to 1 November, the Hong Kong International Outdoor and Tech Light Expo will be held at AsiaWorld-Expo and will feature lighting products and solutions in the areas of public lighting, exterior lighting, horticultural lighting, outdoor advertising and technical lighting.

Under the theme of “Light and Life”, seminars at the two exhibitions will explore the impact lighting has on emotions and highlight human-centric lighting products designed to enhance health and well-being.

A forum featuring experts, designers and engineers will look at the latest light design concepts and Architainment industry trends.

Meanwhile, at the Lighting Fair, seminars will explore residential smart lighting solutions for healthy ageing and the benefits of connected lighting in China.

Together, the two fairs represent an indispensable marketplace for light industry buyers and manufacturers. In 2023, the two fairs attracted more than 3,000 exhibitors and some 38,000 and some 12,000 buyers to the Lighting Fair and the Outdoor and Tech Light Expo respectively.

Reactions to the 2023 events were overwhelmingly positive.

Hong Kong company Extra Lighting Manufacturing showcased products in 2023. Lisa Tang, Director, said: “We have been participating in this fair for more than 20 years. We connected with new buyers from Europe, the Middle East, North America and Southeast Asia.”

A buyer from Saudi Arabia, Abdelhamid Hussein, said the two 2023 fairs featured a good mix of innovative lighting products. He said last year: “We placed a US$700,000 order with a Shanghai exhibitor at the Outdoor and Tech Light Expo for landscape lighting and solar poles for stadiums and sports halls. We will place orders as much as US$2-3 million at the two fairs.”

Exhibitor profiles and product lists are available online. From 20 October, attendees for both events can use the HKTDC online business matching service Click2Match to book appointments during the fairs and continue discussions after the fairs have closed.
