The Shenzhen Administration for Market Regulation recently issued a notice (Shen Shi Jian Tong Gao No. 63 [2021]) regarding the city-wide launch of its so-called Shenzhen-Hong Kong “easy connect, easy registration” and Shenzhen-Macao “easy connect, easy registration” policies on 28 June. More

The State Council recently released revised regulations on business name registration and administration (State Council Decree No. 734), which will come into force on 1 March. The 26 articles of the new regulations are expected to make it easier to start a business, lower the costs of doing so, and stimulate market vitality. More

The State Administration for Market Regulation and six other government departments issued a circular on further improving the services for business establishment and registration to implement the decision of the central government to deepen the reform of streamlining administration, delegating powers and improving services, as well as making continuous efforts to build a rules-based, internationalised business environment characterised by market principles. More

Prior approval for officially registering businesses is now only required in 32 commercial sectors. The still-restricted sectors include a number of categories deemed sensitive or in particular need of monitoring, most notably securities companies, monopoly tobacco production licences, overseas insurance companies’ mainland offices and express delivery services.
