Listen

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is introducing themed days from 15-18 August for its five major summer events in August.

The Food Expo, hosting renowned chefs and global cuisine, will run from 15-19 August alongside two other HKTDC fairs, Beauty & Wellness Expo and Home Delights Expo.

Two more HKTDC events – Food Expo PRO, including the Food Tech Symposium, and Hong Kong International Tea Fair – will be held from 15-17 August.

Food Expo PRO and the Tea Fair are expecting 110 missions, representing 6,000 trade buyers from 26 countries and regions.

For the first time, all five events will share a common theme on different days, featuring curated activities and product promotions.

The first cross-fair theme on 15 August will be “Delights Across Mainland China”, showcasing famous dishes from across China.

A drinks-oriented “Happy Friday” theme will headline all five events on 16 August, followed by a “Japan & Korea Express” theme on 17 August.

A “Wellness Weekend” theme, including workshops and seminars, will run across the five events on 17-18 August.

“This year’s exhibitors have gone all out to bring a wider variety of products and engaging activities,” said Sophia Chong, HKTDC’s Deputy Executive Director.

More than 1,840 exhibitors are lined up to attend the five fairs.

HKTDC is also helping stage the International Conference of the Modernization of Chinese Medicine & Health Products on 15-16 August, in collaboration with the Modernized Chinese Medicine International Association and 10 research institutions. This conference will share the latest insights into and foster the development of Chinese medicine.
