Technology users, buyers and investors can experience some of the latest global innovations and breakthroughs first-hand at four major tech fairs staged by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) this month.
InnoEX, co-organised by the Hong Kong SAR Government’s Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau, will be held concurrently with the spring edition of the Hong Kong Electronics Fair from 13 to 16 April at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, spotlighting cutting-edge tech and real-world applications across different industries.
From 20 to 23 April, the same venue will host the spring edition of the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair as well as Smart Lighting Expo, presenting a wide array of next-generation products and solutions.
The four flagship fairs, previewed at a press event yesterday, are expected to attract more than 3,700 exhibitors from 28 countries and regions, offering a comprehensive snapshot of emerging trends while unlocking extensive sourcing and partnership opportunities.
“These events present advanced technologies and cutting-edge products, fostering business networking and cross-sector collaboration, and continuously leverage Hong Kong’s unique advantage as a platform,” remarked Jenny Koo, Deputy Executive Director of the HKTDC.
One standout attraction promises to be the RoboPark zone, running across InnoEX and the Electronics Fair. This zone will host more than 100 robots across a wide range of applications, from commercial and industrial use to healthcare and entertainment.
Some 40 events will be held at RoboPark, including tech demonstrations, application sharing sessions and networking platforms, helping enterprises expand into overseas markets and explore new opportunities.
Other events at InnoEX and the Electronics Fair, will also feature insights from industry experts and leaders. These will include a Deloitte representative, who will share perspectives on human-centric AI, and an expert from Google, who will explore the future of smart home experiences, among many others.
InnoEX will also, for the first time, co‑organise the Low‑Altitude Economy Conference with the Working Group on Developing the Low‑Altitude Economy. Industry experts will analyse policy trends and market potential, while exploring application scenarios and collaboration opportunities in Hong Kong.
The innovation fair, themed ‘Innovate • Automate • Elevate’, also includes an exhibition – bringing together R&D achievements and original solutions from government, industry, academia and research – as well as business matching and networking opportunities, pitching sessions and much more.
Product debuts
The spring edition of the Electronics Fair, meanwhile, will focus on AI-driven products across three major areas: Smart Home & Solutions, Health Tech & Gadgets and Pet Intelligence. Some 50 products will make their debut at the fair, which offers buyers a one-stop sourcing platform as well as forward-looking market insights.
The Startup Zone remains a major draw, bringing together over 60 start-ups, while the Immersive Experience Zone will demonstrate VR, AR and XR technologies, among many other highlights.
InnoEX and the Electronics Fair are proactively aligned with China’s 15th Five-Year Plan as well as the I&T policy outlined in the Hong Kong SAR Government’s latest Budget, Ms Koo pointed out, helping support Hong Kong’s development into an international innovation and technology hub.
Meanwhile, this year’s theme for Smart Lighting Expo and the spring edition of the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair is ‘Go Smart • Live Green’. Renowned brands and industry leaders will unveil the latest products and technologies at the twin lighting fairs.
A brand-new Light Lab will feature smart products through scenario-based design and immersive displays.
Smart Lighting Expo will also introduce a new Smart Commercial Display and Stage Audio-visual Zone.
The two lighting fairs will also host a series of events, including the Smart Lighting Solution Forum and the Asian Lighting Forum, creating platforms for dialogue and knowledge exchange.
The four tech fairs overall form part of the Business of Innovation and Technology Week (BIT Week), a diverse line-up of tech-related exhibitions, conferences, seminars, roundtables and networking events held across Hong Kong.
Other key BIT Week events include the Hong Kong World Youth Science Conference, the Hong Kong Web3 Festival and the International Academicians Hong Kong Forum.
The World Internet Conference Asia‑Pacific Summit will also take place concurrently from 13 to 14 April.
