Event Details

Following the Policy Address, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is going to host the second edition of the Hong Kong Shopping Festival in August 2025 to showcase consumer products and brands represented by Hong Kong companies on mainland e-commerce platforms, enabling them to leverage the platforms’ extensive visitor traffic and diverse customer base to drive publicity exposure. Building on the experience of the first edition, the HKTDC will optimise the campaign to help participants better seize market opportunities and accelerate their expansion into the mainland market via e-commerce.

Part One: Training Seminars and One-on-One Consulting Service [New]
E-commerce in mainland China is developing rapidly, with a unique ecosystem that includes social media, e-commerce platforms and diverse marketing tools. To provide participating companies with an in-depth understanding of e-commerce operations and marketing techniques in Mainland China, HKTDC will organise a series of seminars on specific topics such as cross-border e-commerce operations, logistics management, e-payment tools, digital marketing technique, live-streaming production and more, with the aim of enabling the participating companies to apply their learnings to the actual operations. In addition, HKTDC will offer one-on-one consulting service, where experts will give advice to the participating companies on suitable e-commerce strategies. Participation is free of charge, while One-on-one Consulting Service is subject to limited availability.


Part Two: Discount Month

To increase mainland consumers’ awareness of the Hong Kong Shopping Festival, an official campaign webpage will be created to feature all participating companies and the discounts offered by their online stores in Mainland China. HKTDC will then advertise on various strategically planned digital marketing channels to attract consumers' attention and boost visits to the online shops for direct purchase.


Part Three: Livestreaming

Notable KOLs will be invited to conduct livestreaming sessions on major e-commerce platforms (such as Douyin, Taobao/Tmall) at a specific time frame to promote the participating products and brands, providing a dedicated platform for consumers to engage with KOLs and make instant purchases online.


Part Four: Customised Marketing and Channel Services [New]

The online marketing strategies in Mainland China are diverse. In addition to livestreaming sessions, there are many other opportunities to increase brand exposure. The second edition of Hong Kong Shopping Festival will integrate additional promotional channels and introduce digital marketing strategies. Participating companies will have the flexibility to choose services based on their product characteristics to enhance their marketing techniques in the mainland e-commerce market.
