E-commerce post-Brexit

Association Servi...United KingdomTradeEuropean Union

A chance to learn how to navigate e-commerce in Europe following the UK’s departure from the EU.

WHAT: The COVID-19 outbreak has driven many struggling businesses to embrace e‑commerce for domestic as well as overseas sales. Hong Kong exporters have long seen the United Kingdom, the world’s third-largest e-commerce market, as a prime target in its own right as well as a gateway to the European Union’s single market. To examine the huge potential of this key European destination, an upcoming webinar will detail the UK’s dynamic e-commerce landscape and provide key insights into securing post-Brexit success.

WHEN: 22 February 2021 – 3pm to 4pm

WHO: Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council

WHY: Webinar speakers will include Louis Chan, head of the Global Research Team at the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), who provides leadership and direction for the HKTDC’s evaluation of markets in America and Europe. The macro view of the global trade environment his team supplies helps small and medium-sized enterprises to implement appropriate export strategies. His team monitors the competitiveness of Hong Kong’s trading, manufacturing and services sectors and looks to identify any emerging trends, whether general or industry-specific. The team also tracks emerging business opportunities, consumption patterns and sourcing trends – as well as regulatory changes – across the Americas, Europe and Central Asia. Mr Chan will be joined by Stanley Lee, President of the E-commerce Association of Hong Kong and Founder of the Cross-Border E-Commerce Service Group (CBES Group), who has almost 20 years’ experience in the retail, e-commerce and logistics industries. Employing 400 people in about 10 countries, CBES Group develops and delivers integrated e-commerce services and solutions. The webinar will be moderated by Jenny Lam, Economist (Global Research), HKTDC Research.
