Argentina Initiates AD Investigation on Plastic Pools. Argentinean authorities have initiated an AD investigation on mainland Chinese plastic swimming pools with a capacity of at least 500 litres but no higher than 24,000 litres, except pools reinforced with fibreglass, classified under NCM 9506.99.00. Argentinean Customs will begin requiring certificates of origin for subject merchandise from 22 July.
Argentina Issues Preliminary AD Determination on Ironing Presses. Argentina's Commerce Secretariat has decided to proceed to the final phase of its AD investigation of certain mainland Chinese electric ironing presses weighing no more than 51 kilogrammes classified under NCM 8451.30.99 and 8451.30.91 without the imposition of any provisional measures.
Brazil Begins Sunset Reviews on Blankets and Pens. MDIC has initiated separate sunset reviews of the AD duty orders on mainland Chinese synthetic fibre blankets classified under NCM 6301.40.00 and ball-point pens classified under NCM 9608.10.00. In place since April 2010, these orders currently impose AD duties of US$5.22/kg on subject blankets and US$14.52/kg on subject pens
Brazil Extends Deadline for Final AD Determination PET Film. Brazilian authorities recently extended for an additional eight months, from 30 April to 30 December, the deadline to issue a final determination in their AD investigation of mainland Chinese PET film classified under NCM 3920.62.19, 3920.62.91 and 3920.62.99.
Canada Begins Public Interest Inquiry in AD/CV Probes of Rebar. The Canadian International Trade Tribunal has initiated a public interest inquiry to determine whether the imposition of AD and CV duty orders on mainland Chinese hot-rolled deformed steel concrete reinforcing bar in straight lengths or coils, commonly identified as rebar, in various diameters up to and including 56.4 millimetres, in various finishes, excluding plain round bar and fabricated rebar products, classified under HTSCA 7213.10.0000 and 7214.20.0000, would be in the public interest. The CITT preliminarily determined that imports of subject merchandise had not caused injury but threatened to cause injury to a domestic industry. A public hearing in connection with his inquiry will be held on 27 July and parties wishing to participate must file a notice to that effect by 19 May. Parties supporting a reduction or an elimination of AD/CV duties may file a submission by 25 June, while parties opposing such an action may submit their input by 6 July. Reply submissions are due by 16 July and the CITT will publish the results of its inquiry by 14 September.
Colombia Issues Preliminary Affirmative Determination in AD Probe of Float Glass. Colombia has preliminarily established for a period of four months a minimum FOB price of US$0.39/kg in its AD investigation of certain coloured float glass classified under HTSCO 7005.21.1100 and 7005.21.9000 from mainland China. While imports of lower-valued items are allowed, importers are required to guarantee payment of the difference in each of those circumstances.
Peru Issues AD Duty Order on Certain Hot-Rolled Steel Tube. Peru's National Institute for the Defence of Competition and Intellectual Property (INDECOPI) recently issued a final affirmative determination in its AD investigation of certain mainland Chinese hot-rolled welded steel tube classified under HTSPE 7306.30.9900, 7306.61.0000 and 7306.90.0000. As a result, Peru will impose the following AD duties on the merchandise outlined below for a period of three years.
