Northern Vietnam now stands out on the radar of global manufacturers looking for alternative production bases to China. In this seminar, the speakers discussed the region’s potential, both as a production base and a consumer market for Hong Kong companies, as well as the “FTA Programme” under the Dedicated Fund on Branding, Upgrading and Domestic Sales (the BUD Fund).
Mr Stanley Szeto from Lever Style Corporation shared the comparative advantages of Vietnam among other Southeast Asian countries, and the company’s experience in setting up base there. Ms Wenda Ma from HKTDC analysed the recent economic development of the countries and its potential as a production base and consumer market. Mr Nelson Mak from Hong Kong Productivity Council introduced details about the BUD Fund and tips for businesses planning to apply for it.
