With the opening of two more GoGBA business support centres in Huizhou and Zhaoqing, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council now has physical support offices in all nine mainland cities of the vibrant and rapidly growing Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The centres are a physical extension of the HKTDC’s GoGBA platform, which was launched in 2021 to provide comprehensive in-person and online support to businesses keen to access arising opportunities in the GBA.
They provide consultations and training and facilitate knowledge-exchange, networking and business matching year-round. More than 8,000 people have benefitted from GoGBA services thus far.
Lai Jianhua, a member of the Standing Committee of the Huizhou Municipal Party Committee and Director of the United Front Work Department, said at the Huizhou centre opening ceremony: "Huizhou and Hong Kong are cooperating increasingly closely in trade, tourism exchanges, talent exchanges, industrial integration and other aspects, injecting new impetus into the development of the two places."
The Huizhou GoGBA business support centre strengthens the industrial linkage and cooperation among institutions , promotes economic and trade exchanges between Hong Kong and Huizhou and provides high-quality services to Hong Kong businesses.
HKTDC Regional Director for Southern China Peter Wong said: “The HKTDC will strengthen cooperation with various government departments and partners in Huizhou, help Hong Kong enterprises enter Huizhou and support Hong Kong enterprises that seek to seize opportunities in Huizhou.
“The Huizhou GoGBA centre provides policy and market consultation business setup support and other comprehensive services to Hong Kong enterprises and young people interested in developing in Huizhou and the GBA, in order to attract more Hong Kong enterprises and young people to innovate and start or expand their business in Huizhou.”
The Zhaoqing Municipal Commerce Bureau and HKTDC officially opened the city's GoGBA business support centre a week earlier on 28 February.
The Shenzhen GBA Service Centre and support centres have so far held more than 110 activities, including online and offline sharing sessions, consultations and business study tours.
In addition to the physical premises, the GoGBA digital platform, comprising a website and WeChat mini-programme provide diverse information on market and industry policies, subsidies, career opportunities and more, amassing more than 3 million views so far.
The HKTDC will launch GoGBA 2.0 this year to provide more comprehensive support to businesses interested in entering the GBA..
GoGBA 2.0 will include a five-in-one support plan for different industries, covering seminars, group consultations, one-on-one consultations, business visits to the GBA and more.
At the same time, the HKTDC plans to open a new GoGBA business support centre at Futian High Speed Rail Station in the second quarter this year.
Furthermore, a GBA mission will be organised in the third quarter to connect Hong Kong start-ups with mainland I&T enterprises and service providers to explore business collaboration opportunities.
