Hong Kong is a global financial and trade hub and historical touch point for many members of the Chinese diaspora worldwide, creating a business network that spans the globe.
The Federation of Hong Kong Business Associations Worldwide (FHKBAW), a unique network of 47 Hong Kong business associations in 36 countries and regions, with nearly 11,000 individual business executives and professionals from around the world as members , constitutes an umbrella body for this diverse worldwide community.
Every year, Federation members converge on Hong Kong to attend a two-day Forum. The Forum gives Federation members the latest insights and information on doing business in Hong Kong and Mainland China. The programme ranges from panel discussions and networking sessions to face-to-face communication with senior executives from Hong Kong and around the world. Members can also join site visits to get an update on the latest business and infrastructure developments in Hong Kong and the wider Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The 24th Hong Kong Forum, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and the Federation. will be held on 5 and 6 December at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). Nearly 260 business leaders from 27 countries and regions will gather to exchange ideas and learn about business opportunities in Hong Kong and discuss various topics, such as the business outlook, health innovation and youth entrepreneurship.
Focus points of this year’s Forum include healthcare, youth development and the GBA.
As the Federation’s annual flagship event, Hong Kong Forum aims to provide participants with a chance to explore business trends in Hong Kong and Mainland China. On the first day, Hans Poulis, Chairman of FHKBAW, and Margaret Fong, Executive Director of the HKTDC, will deliver opening speeches, sharing Hong Kong's advantages as an international business platform.
Following that, Bernard Chan, Vice Chairman of the Board of the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority, will discuss how the West Kowloon Cultural District can elevate Hong Kong's cultural scene and establish Hong Kong as a hub for Chinese and Western cultural exchange.
The main plenary session will focus on changes in Hong Kong's business environment. Business leaders, such as Hing Chao, Executive Chairman of Wah Kwong Maritime Transport Holdings Limited, Winnie Chiu, President of Dorsett Hospitality International, and Bosco Law, Deputy Chairman and CEO of LAWGROUP, will reveal challenges and opportunities they face and how they adapt to the city’s ever-changing business environment.
As Asia's healthcare investment and innovation centre, Hong Kong has an irreplaceable strategic position in cultivating Asia's healthcare industry. On the same day, Rachel Fan, CEO of G-NiiB GenieBiome, Dr Charles Hu, Founder and CEO of Ryoden Medical Holdings Ltd, and Dr Kenneth Tsang, CEO of Gleneagles Hong Kong Hospital, will explore healthcare and biotechnology prospects in the city during a special thematic session.
In the morning of the second day a group of young entrepreneurs, including Edmund Chan, COO and Co-Founder of Meat the Next Company Limited, Arthur Lam, Co-Founder and CEO of Negawatt Technology Limited, and Jerry Tam, Advisor of OnePile Tech Ltd, will discuss their experiences in entrepreneurship.
