Jointly organised by the Hong Kong SAR Government and Hong Kong Trade Development Council, BIP Asia Forum on 7-8 December assembles intellectual property professionals and business leaders from all over the world to discuss the latest developments in the IP world, and explore business collaboration opportunities.
The physical event at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre will again be supplemented with virtual access.
The theme this year is “IP & Innovation: Steering New Economic Growth”. The Forum will discuss the transformative potential of IP and innovation in driving sustainable and inclusive economic growth and creating new opportunities for global economies and businesses.
Speakers will address a wide range of topics, including powering economic growth through future-ready IP, IP online and IP in the Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao Greater Bay Area.
The Forum will include the Global Tech Summit, which examines the potential of generative AI. There will also be IP legal tips and advice on IP opportunities in the GBA and ASEAN.
For start-ups, BIP Asia also incorporates the 2023 IPHatch conference, co-organised with Piece Future, examining the role of IP in tech and entrepreneurship.
The 12th edition of the Forum was held in-person at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and online in December last year with great success, featuring more than 70 prominent speakers sharing insights and attracting more than 14,000 participants from more than 40 countries and regions.
The Forum runs concurrently with Entrepreneur Day which highlights the latest global innovators and innovations.
The Day includes the World SME Summit and Start-up Express International, at which the 10 Start-up Express winners of the HKTDC's signature entrepreneurship programme engage with international start-ups and share their success stories.
There will be seminars on topics ranging from the future of work to sustainability strategies.
The Forum and Entrepreneur Day are part of Hong Kong's Innovation & IP Week, which runs from 21 to 26 November.
