DesignFashion

Hong Kong emerging designer brands are establishing their presence in the fashion capital of Paris.

Curated by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and supported by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Brussels, the Hong Kong Pop-up Design à Paris pop-up shop attracted Parisian consumers, fashion journalists, trade buyers and bloggers alike.

As part of the Fashion Hong Kong campaign, the pop-up’s 11 emerging Hong Kong designer brands showcased a wide range of fashion products, such as clothing, leather goods, jewellery and accessories, including personalised designs inspired by sustainable fashion, art, culture and craftsmanship.

Sustainable fashion products have gained popularity in recent years, and pop-up exhibitors, such as ARTY:ACTIVE, Coat Tote, OLEADA and SOULMATTE, are demonstrating their commitment to the environment through sustainable design concepts, materials and processes.

Sustainability elements are found in brand designs to demonstrate designers’ commitment to the environment

Other exhibiting brands, such as ditto ditto and Pair Pair Full, incorporate local elements into their designs, such as Victoria Harbour magnets made with letterpress techniques, printed accessories with urban and animal motifs and funky, mismatched socks with Hong Kong anecdotes.

The designs of KKLUE, La Serenidad, LOUISE CASTLE and WHY brands were another highlight, combining traditional craftsmanship and innovative design to create one-of-a-kind jewellery pieces, bow ties and clothing.

To help Hong Kong sports and leisure brands seize booming e-commerce opportunities in the ASEAN market, Fashion Hong Kong partnered with lifestyle e-commerce brand Pinkoi to set up a dedicated page on its Thailand e-commerce platform, promoting Hong Kong sports and leisure brands and helping them deploy cross-border e-commerce to explore Thailand and overseas markets. The promotion will run until 9 April.

We also brought the Fashion Hong Kong campaign to the DADA Showroom, the official B2B showroom partner for Shanghai Fashion Week, from 24 to 29 March to facilitate business matching meetings and opportunities for Hong Kong fashion designers.

Asia’s all-in-one sourcing platform for fashion, Fashion InStyle, returns to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 20-23 April to connect exhibitors, buyers and all members of the trade around the world and foster business collaboration opportunities.
