Hainan Free Trade Port Further Eases Market Access

On 7 April, the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Commerce (Fa Gai Ti Gai No. 479 ) issued guidelines on easing of market access in the Hainan Free Trade Port across sectors such as medicine and health, culture and education. Among the measures proposed are the following:
Innovation in market access in medicine and health
- Support will be given to the innovative development of homegrown, high-end healthcare equipment. Access restrictions to contract research organisations (CROs) will be fully eased and support will be given to the development of high-end medical cosmetology.
Promotion of market access easing and prosperity in cultural fields
- Support will be given to the establishment of an international relics and artworks trading hub.
Promotion of market access easing and concentration of resources in education
- Support will be given to leading Chinese colleges and universities to establish colleges of international education in Hainan and encouragement will be given to Hainan to develop vocational education.
