INDIA: Government Blocks 59 China-Origin Apps Over Data Security Concerns

The government has announced a ban on 59 China-sourced apps, including TikTok, WeChat, Helo, Weibo, Kwai, SHAREit, UC Browser, UC News, Club Factory, Clash of Kings and Cam Scanner. All such apps are now blocked from both mobile and desktop digital devices.

According to the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, the move has been prompted by data security and privacy concerns and is intended to safeguard national security and public order.
