China Allows Import of Fresh Chipping Potatoes from US

According to the Announcement on Inspection and Quarantine Requirements for Potatoes Imported from the US (Announcement No. 32 ) issued by the General Administration of Customs on 21 February 2020, fresh potatoes for processing that meet the relevant inspection and quarantine requirements are now allowed to be imported from the US.
The appendix of the Announcement states that the fresh potatoes for processing exported to China refer to potato tubers not intended for cultivation. The permitted places of origin include the states of Washington, Oregon and Idaho. The potatoes must be imported via the ports of Dalian, Tianjin, Qingdao, Nanjing, Shanghai, Ningbo, Shenzhen and Guangzhou and processed in designated processing enterprises that meet the relevant plant quarantine requirements of China.
