Mexico Begins AD Investigation on Wind Towers. Mexico’s Ministry of Economy initiated on 16 April an AD duty investigation of wind towers classified under HTSMX 8502.31.01 from mainland China. Certain importers, exporters and the mainland Chinese government will have 23 working days counted five days from the date the applicable notice of investigation is sent to them to submit the official form for this investigation and any arguments thereof. All other interested parties may submit the official form for this investigation no later than 23 working days from 21 April.
Argentina Initiates AD Investigation on Spray Apparatus and Liquid Product Dispensers. Argentinean authorities have initiated an AD duty investigation on spray apparatus consisting of a push button, nozzle, piston, spring and sealing gasket, whether or not containing a fishing tube or lid, assembled on a metal or plastic body, of the kind used to be mounted on the neck of containers, to project liquids or powder, as well as dispensers of liquid hygiene or toilet products consisting of a push button and plunger mechanism for pumping, whether or not containing a fishing tube or lid, of the kind used to be mounted on the neck of containers, classified under HTSUS 8424.89.90 and 8479.89.99, from mainland China.
Colombia Launches Safeguard Action on Certain Cardboard and Polyethylene Sheets. Colombia has launched a safeguard investigation on sheets of cardboard and polyethylene, with an aluminium intermediate sheet and an oxygen barrier, for the aseptic packaging of food industry products treated with ultra-high temperature processing (UTH), classified under HTSCO 4811.59.2000 (this product is known commercially as “Tetra Pak”), from World Trade Organisation member countries. Brazil is Colombia’s largest supplier of this product with a share of about 97.5 percent of total imports, followed by Mexico with a 1.6 percent share.
Mexico Begins Sunset Review on Plastic Atomisers. Mexico has initiated a sunset review of the AD duty order on plastic atomisers classified under HTSMX 9616.10.01 from mainland China. The review could result in either the continuation or revocation of this order. Imports of subject merchandise currently face a dumping margin of 86 percent.
