Green Manufacturing Projects Implementation Plan to be Announced Around Year End
31 December 2015
As an integral part of the Made in China 2025 strategy, the Implementation Plan for Green Manufacturing Projects is expected to be announced and put into action before or after the end of this year, according to Bi Junsheng, deputy director of the Department of Energy Conservation under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
“The Implementation Plan for Green Manufacturing Projects was passed at the [MIIT] ministerial work meeting convened in early December. In the next step, it will be submitted to the [State Council Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Work] leading group for consideration,” said Bi Junsheng. He added that the Implementation Plan will be announced officially and put into action before or after the year end.
In May 2015, the Chinese government promulgated Made in China 2025 endorsing the “three-step development” strategy, which proposes that efforts will be made to achieve the goal of securing a place in the front ranks of the world’s manufacturing powerhouses in 30 years’ time. Advancing green manufacturing on all fronts is named a strategic task and focus, while implementing green manufacturing projects is one of the five major components of Made in China 2025.
The Implementation Plan places emphasis on carrying out the following four tasks: advancing green transformation of traditional manufacturing industry; promoting the recycling and utilisation of resources; encouraging innovation, application and demonstration of green manufacturing technology; and building a green manufacturing system.
Bi urged the newly established alliance of energy saving, environmental protection and finance industries to leverage their extensive connections to proactively give suggestions and advice in an effort to encourage China to establish a highly efficient, clean and recyclable green manufacturing system, contributing to China’s energy saving and environmental protection endeavours.
The cross-industry alliance was set up under the initiation of the China Energy Conservation Association, China Banking Association, and China Guofa Energy Saving and Environmental Protection Group Co Ltd.
