InnoEX to explore the tech-driven economy

Annual innovation fair returning to Hong Kong in April

The latest innovations in AI, robotics, cybersecurity, smart mobility, the low-altitude economy and more will be showcased at this year’s InnoEX, a major technology fair and conference organised by the Hong Kong SAR Government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC).

InnoEX 2025, themed ‘Innovate ∙ Automate ∙ Elevate’, will take place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 13-16 April, bringing together stakeholders from across the innovation and technology (I&T) value chain.

Expected attendees include start-ups, SMEs, investors and technology owners, as well as academics and R&D specialists, industry and business leaders and government officials, among others.

Conferences and seminars running as part of InnoEX will focus on key themes each day.

The first day’s discussions will examine low-altitude tech applications, including the use of drones and air vehicles, and the tech-driven economy.

Sessions on the second day will spotlight artificial intelligence and robotics, followed by cybersecurity on day three.

The final day will look at SME solutions.

The first day’s agenda will also include a dedicated conference supported by the Hong Kong SAR Government’s Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises.

At this session, Government officials from different regions will discuss how policy initiatives can drive innovation and support sustainable growth, while industry leaders will share insights on strengthening tech development in Hong Kong.

This year’s InnoEX exhibition will feature a wide range of industry pavilions from Hong Kong, Mainland China and overseas.

The Hong Kong SAR Government’s Digital Policy Office is hosting a Smart Hong Kong Pavilion.

Many other local exhibitors are hosting pavilions, including B4B Challenge, a social enterprise promoting big data innovation, and Smart City Consortium, a professional body focused on smart city development.

Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks and Cyberport, as well as lnnoHK laboratories and multiple research institutes under the Innovation and Technology Commission will also have pavilions this year.

International participants include the returning So French So Innovative pavilion from France, as well as pavilions from Canada and the United Kingdom. The Smart Cities Council, an international organisation, is also joining the exhibition for the first time.

The event will also include pitching sessions as well as business matching and networking opportunities.

InnoEX is part of Business of Innovation & Technology Week (BIT Week), a series of tech-related exhibitions, conferences, seminars and networking events. BIT Week is driven by the the Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau of the Hong Kong SAR Government and HKTDC, reinforcing Hong Kong’s position as an international I&T hub.

A survey from InvestHK published earlier this year showed that there were 4,694 start-ups in Hong Kong last year, a record high for the city, highlighting the vitality and dynamism of the local ecosystem.

Other BIT Week events include the spring edition of the Hong Kong Electronics Fair and the Smart Lighting Expo, which are also organised by the HKTDC.
