Hong Kong exporters have a chance to reap gains as COVID-19 boosts e-commerce in these large but distant markets.


WHAT: The COVID-19 outbreak has thrust e-commerce into the spotlight, compelling struggling businesses to explore new sales avenues in both local and overseas markets, including Latin American countries such as Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Peru. In a bid to help Hong Kong traders extend their reach to these countries, this webinar will detail the digital and economic landscape in Latin American and provide key insights into securing success within its markets.

WHY: Speakers include Nicholas Fu, Economist (Global Research) at HKTDC Research. Responsible for North and Latin American market development research, Mr Fu will also provide key insights into a broad range of product and service sectors, including textiles, fur, leather goods, jewellery, gifts/premiums, toys, design and film/entertainment.

He will be joined by Virginia Hui, Greater China Cross Border Trade Seller Consultant at Mercado Libre – the largest e-commerce marketplace in Latin America. Since joining the platform in mid-2020, Ms Hui has helped hundreds of vendors across Mainland China and the region successfully expand their e-commerce operations into Latin America.
