WHAT: The COVID-19 pandemic has fast-tracked business transformation brought by the popularity of smart phones, accelerating the development of cross-border e-commerce. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) could seize this opportunity to expand into overseas markets and increase turnover. At an upcoming webinar, a veteran entrepreneur will share tips for cross-border e-commerce, including ways to select overseas markets and create successful cross-border marketing strategies. In addition, the speaker will share worldwide payment and logistics integration service, as well as success cases, to help SMEs explore overseas business opportunities.

WHY: The speaker is Plato Wai, General Manager for Hong Kong at SHOPLINE, a provider of total commerce solutions and customised services aimed to help businesses go online and go global. A veteran in the start-up scene in the city, Mr Wai started his entrepreneurship journey in 2010. He has founded several start-ups, including Wynd Co-working Space in Central, and this is also where he first met the SHOPLINE founders. Eventually he joined SHOPLINE in 2016, hoping to grow the enterprise to the next level. Mr Wai is also a columnist for online media Startupbeat and Stand News in Hong Kong. He is a Carnegie Mellon graduate and has spent five years in investment banking.
