As the head of the Global Research Team, Louis provides leadership and direction for the HKTDC’s ongoing evaluation of the American and European markets. In order to provide a macro view of the global trade environment, allowing SMEs to implement appropriate export strategies, he and his team continually monitor the competitiveness of Hong Kong’s trading, manufacturing and services sectors, while also looking to identify any emerging trends, whether general or industry-specific. As a means of bolstering the sales and marketing initiatives of local SMEs, the team also tracks emerging business opportunities, consumption patterns and sourcing trends – as well as regulatory changes – across the Americas, Europe and Central Asia.
Mr. Tony Lau
Co-founder & Executive Director, Vplus Studio Corporation Limited
A movie and art enthusiast, Tony founded the Vplus Studio Corporation in 2021. An extended reality (XR) virtual production studio, the company comprises an integrated collective of creatives, designers, project managers, producers and programmers, all committed to collaborating on projects for the advertising, multimedia and cinematic industries. Before devoting himself to the filmmaking world, Tony served as the Managing Director of his family’s business, a specialist player in the heritage conservation and revitalisation sectors. Among the signature projects he has worked on are Tai Kwun, 1881 Heritage, King Yin Lane, Duddell Street Stone Steps and Gas Lamps and three Ancient Temples (the Ling Wan Monastery, the Ling To Monastery and the Tsing Shan Monastery) in Hong Kong.
Mr. Roy Kwok
Co-Founder & Business Director, Vplus Studio Corporation Limited
A passionate entrepreneur who loves to learn and explore, Roy graduated from the London School of Economics in 2015. He then began his own entrepreneurial journey while assisting his family in the business transformation process. In 2017, he established LoftMasterHK, an interior design house specialising in the provision of unique and dependable micro-flat interior services to both householder and professional property developers. This saw him pioneer the implementation of the European loft concept to the local interior market, while providing essential solutions to millennial-households across Hong Kong. In 2021, he co-founded the Vplus Studio Corporation, an extended reality (XR) virtual production studio. Providing a truly immersive shooting experience, the company is committed to fusing the traditional filmmaking process with a variety of emerging industry standards, including Unreal Engine 5.0 and Unity. As one of the first movers in the virtual production sector in Southeast Asia, together with the Vplus team, he aims to deliver exclusive entertainment content and innovative advertisement visuals on a global basis.
