Giant river for giant market
An online business workshop explores the Mainland China market through the Yangtze River Delta region.
26 July 2021
WHAT: With China’s 14th Five-Year Plan committed to expanding domestic demand, as well as Mainland China’s robust recovery from the pandemic and encouragement of high-quality imports, it is an opportune time to target the massive mainland market. Apart from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Shanghai has emerged as a primary conduit into the burgeoning market. This timely webinar focuses on how Hong Kong businesses can access the Yangtze River Delta region, as well as many other key mainland markets, via Shanghai.
WHEN: 24 August 2021 3pm to 4.15pm
WHO: Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council
WHY: The seminar will offer practical advice on how Hong Kong and overseas small and medium-sized enterprises can use Shanghai’s business platform to enter the Yangtze Delta market, while sharing stories of the many Hong Kong companies that have achieved this. The session will be led by Sun Jian, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council’s (HKTDC’s) China Business Advisor, who is currently on secondment from the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce. His presentation will focus on the benefits of utilising Shanghai as the gateway to the Yangtze River Delta and the wider mainland market. Other speakers include representatives of the Shanghai Weigaoqiao Facilitation Center of Enterprises Development (Shanghai Free Trade Zone) and the Hongqiao Central Business District.
