Webinar: New Market Exploration Workshop
As the COVID-19 outbreak presents challenges to global businesses, a webinar will provide Hong Kong’s small and medium-sized enterprises with the latest information on two support schemes.
04 May 2020
WHAT: The webinar, a workshop on exploring new markets, will feature the Hong Kong Authorised Economic Operator (HKAEO) Programme and the enhanced SME Export Marketing Fund, both run by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government. The HKAEO Programme provides a free supply chain security advice and certification service to all businesses in the city, including small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). An HKAEO can enjoy exclusive customs clearance benefits in Hong Kong and overseas to enhance their competitiveness for exploring new markets and business opportunities. Meanwhile, the SME Export Marketing Fund aims to help local SMEs to expand their business through active participation in export promotion activities. During the workshop, Tom Cheung, Senior Inspector, Customs and Excise Department, will introduce the application procedure and details of the HKAEO programme. Natalie Liu, Assistant Trade Officer, Trade and Industry Department, will discuss the SME Export Marketing Fund’s latest enhancement measures that help SMEs explore new markets over this difficult period.
WHEN: 13 May 2020 (Wednesday), 15.00-16.30
WHO: Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council
WHY: The global COVID-19 outbreak is putting pressure on a wide range of industries but the rising trend towards adopting e-commerce during the anti-pandemic period brings opportunities for global trade. SMEs should take this opportunity to better equip and upgrade their supply-chain security to prepare for new trends.
