More help is at hand for Hong Kong SMEs looking to grow their business in Macao.

A new GoGBA Business Support Centre has opened in the heart of the city to provide policy and market consultations as well as general business assistance. Services include help with investment and registration processes in Macao as well as facilitating networking opportunities with chambers of commerce and potential partners.

GoGBA is a business support platform run by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) for Hong Kong businesses seeking to expand in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), a vibrant economy that is home to more than 86 million people and generates around US$2 trillion in GDP.

The Macao Special Administrative Region plays a leading role in tandem with Zhuhai as a key driver of the GBA’s regional development.

The new business support centre in Macao was officially inaugurated last week by the HKTDC and its local partner, Macao’s Investment Promotion Bureau (IPB).

Both parties signed an MoU at the centre’s official opening.

“I hope that the two places will further strengthen economic and trade exchanges and two-way investment cooperation, and complement each other’s advantages,” said Esther Wong, HKTDC’s Director of Corporate Communications and Marketing.

The new facility in Macao is located in the China-PCS Platform Complex. It is GoGBA’s 11th business support centre, which are run with local partners in major cities across the GBA.

GoGBA’s on-ground support network also includes two GBA Centres, one in Shenzhen and one in Guangzhou, as well as an SME Centre in Hong Kong.

Since launch in 2021, GoGBA has organised more than 120 activities, including workshops and delegations to GBA cities, for more than 8,000 participants.

GoGBA’ s digital services have received more than 5 million page views to date.
