CNIPA to Continue Strict Regulation of Patent Applications

The China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) called in a recent circular for continued efforts to strictly regulate patent applications. Abnormal patent applications that are deemed ‘not serving the purpose of protecting innovation’ will be scrapped. Furthermore, patent applications will be regulated with an emphasis on quality rather than quantity.
