China Releases New Certification Rules for Motorcycles and E-Bikes
09 July 2021
On 23 June, the Certification and Accreditation Administration of China (CNCA) released Compulsory Product Certification Implementation Rules – Motorcycles (CNCA-C11-02: 2021) and Compulsory Product Certification Implementation Rules – Electrical Bicycles (CNCA-C11-16: 2021), both of which came into force on 1 July. These will replace previous versions, CNCA-C11-02: 2014 and CNCA-C11-16: 2018.
The designated certification institution shall accept certification entrustment in accordance with the new version of the rules starting from 1 July (CNCA Announcement No. 8 [2021]). Valid CCC certificates already issued may continue to be used but may be replaced by means of natural transition, including renewal upon expiry or in accordance with changes to either products per se or to product standards.
