China Approves Four Domestic Covid-19 Vaccines for Export

According to an announcement jointly issued by the Ministry of Commerce and three other government departments on 22 June (No. 13 [2021]), Covid-19 vaccine products that have been granted marketing authorisation or conditional marketing authorisation by the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) will be included in the list of domestically developed and produced Covid-19 vaccine products available for exports.

The four vaccines included have already been granted conditional marketing authorisation in China. Among these, the two manufactured by the Beijing Institute of Biological Products Co Ltd and Sinovac Life Sciences Co Ltd respectively have already been listed by the World Health Organisation for emergency use. The list will be adjusted from time to time based on the NMPA’s marketing authorisation approvals.
