China to Build 50 Demo Bases for Re-Use of Bulk Solid Wastes

The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) recently issued a circular on the comprehensive utilisation of bulk solid wastes (Fa Gai Ban Huan Zi No. 438 ). A total of 50 demonstration bases for the re-use of waste are to be built by 2025, and the NDRC has set a target of exceeding 75% utilisation. Fifty enterprises will also be nurtured to drive innovative, industry-led carbon reduction programmes. Tasks include industrial clustering, lowering of carbon emissions, upgrades to technical equipment, innovation around operating models, and standardisation of operational management.
