18 May 2021
On 21 April, the Ministry of Commerce issued a circular outlining plans for a pilot programme to expand the opening-up of the services sector in Chongqing (Shang Zi Fa No. 65 [2021]). Efforts will be made to deepen reform and expand opening-up in key fields such as scientific and technological services, leasing and commercial services, education, finance, health and social work, and electricity and telecoms services. The programme will promote expanded opening-up in key service platforms and industrial parks, and optimise institutional mechanisms for the opening-up and development of the services sectors. The aim is to ease access restrictions, reduce administrative barriers, improve the regulatory system and enhance the international competitiveness and overall development of services.
