China Exempts Anti-HIV Drugs from Import Duties

On 29 March, the Ministry of Finance , the General Administration of Customs and the State Taxation Administration jointly issued a circular detailing the preferential tax treatment for importing anti-HIV/AIDS drugs. From 1 January 2021 to 31 December 2030, anti-HIV/AIDS drugs imported upon the entrustment of the National Health Commission are exempt from customs duties and import VAT. The National Health Commission shall determine the list of anti-HIV/AIDS drugs and entrusted import entities eligible for the tax exemption policy and report this to the Ministry of Finance , the General Administration of Customs and the State Taxation Administration .
