China Further Expands Opening-Up of Services Sector in Tianjin, Shanghai, Hainan and Chongqing

On 9 April, the State Council gave its reply to the people’s governments of Tianjin, Shanghai, Hainan, Chongqing, as well as the Ministry of Commerce (Guo Han No. 37 ) approving plans to expand opening-up in the services sector in these four places. A pilot programme will last for three years from the date of approval.
The programme will focus on promoting high-quality development, enhancing reform and opening-up of the sector, accelerating the development of modern services, developing new advantages in international co-operation and competition, and creating an open economy.
