Guangdong Tightens Regulation on Manufacturers of Hazardous Chemicals
23 April 2021
On 13 March, the Department of Emergency Management of Guangdong Province issued a circular on the strict implementation of “four prohibitions” in the production of hazardous chemicals.
When a manufacturer in the province switches to the production of hazardous chemicals using existing equipment, it must first undergo a special safety assessment, analyse the possible risks, and take necessary safety precaution measures. Enterprises will only be permitted to start production after eliminating and controlling the safety risks and thoroughly rectifying any hidden problems, and after successfully changing relevant business registration details with the original approving authority. Switching to the production of hazardous chemicals without permission and producing hazardous chemicals beyond the permitted scope are strictly forbidden.
