China Releases IPR Administration and Protection Plan for 2021

The China National Intellectual Property Administration released its 2021 national work plan on the administration and protection of intellectual property rights (IPR) (Guo Zhi Fa Bao Han Zi No. 29 [2021]), on 3 March. The plan puts forward tasks to create a better environment for innovation and business. The measures include:
- Strengthening administrative adjudication on patent protection;
- Enhancing trademark protection and management;
- Strengthening the protection of geographical indications, the Olympic logo, and other official and special logos;
- Strengthening full-chain protection with a focus on major sectors, key links and important moments;
- Strengthening guidance on responding to overseas IPR disputes.
