Urban Planners from Hong Kong and Macao Can Register to Practise in Guangdong
05 March 2021
On 18 February, the Department of Natural Resources of Guangdong Province issued guidelines on record-filing for urban planning professionals from Hong Kong and Macao who wish to practise in the province. Registered professional planners in Hong Kong and urban planners in Macao may now apply to practise in the province. The scope of practice covers non-statutory planning, including strategic planning, conceptual planning, and urban studies and design.
Planners from Hong Kong or Macao who have completed record-filing and registration may provide professional planning services in the province. However, record-filing and registration will be cancelled if violations of laws or regulations occur during the record-filing period or if undesirable acts are discovered in the course of contract fulfilment or in terms of personal integrity.
