China Announces “Zero Tariff” Rules for Vehicles and Yachts in Hainan

The General Administration of Customs recently issued measures for the implementation of the “zero tariff” policy for vehicles and yachts in the Hainan Free Trade Port (for trial implementation) (Announcement No. 1 [2021]), which came into force on 5 January. The following are some of the measures:
- The specific range of vehicles and yachts eligible for the “zero tariff” policy is published in the “List of ‘Zero Tariff’ Vehicles and Yachts in the Hainan Free Trade Port” released as an appendix to Cai Guan Shui No. 54 (2020).
- “Zero tariff” vehicles and yachts are only for the own use of enterprises in the Hainan Free Trade Port and are subject to customs supervision.
