2021 Export Quotas for Some Agricultural Products Supplied to Hong Kong and Macao
07 January 2021
The Ministry of Commerce recently released its 2021 plan for the allocation of export quotas for some agricultural products (Shang Mao Han No. 679 [2020]), requiring the competent commerce departments to complete in a timely manner the secondary allocation and verification of export quotas. More quotas are to be allocated to enterprises with high quota completion rate, strong business performance, good supply quality and high brand reputation. An additional 10% of export quotas will be allocated to enterprises in state-level poverty-stricken counties that supply live livestock and poultry to Hong Kong and Macao.
The plan covers the following:
- Number of live large pigs supplied to Hong Kong and Macao: Hong Kong, 850,000; Macao 102,000.
- Number of live medium-sized pigs supplied to Hong Kong and Macao: Hong Kong, 8,500; Macao, 200.
- Number of live cattle supplied to Hong Kong and Macao: Hong Kong, 21,250; Macao, 2,550.
- Number of live chicken supplied to Hong Kong: 2,288,000.
- Sawn timber: 57,620 cubic metres.
