Hong Kong and Macao Tour Guides May Work in Hengqin from December

The Standing Committee of the Zhuhai Municipal People’s Congress passed Regulations on the Practice of Hong Kong and Macao Tour Guides in the Zhuhai Special Economic Zone on 29 September. Under the regulations, Hong Kong residents with a valid Hong Kong Tour Guide Pass or Tour Escort Pass, and Macao residents with a valid Macao Tour Guide Card, may offer travel guide, explanation and other travel services to tourists within the Hengqin New Area of Zhuhai, provided they meet the requirements and have gone through legal record-filing procedures.

Qualified candidates will be issued with a tour guide licence for the Hengqin New Area after successful record-filing and going through training and certification. This pass may be renewed upon expiration and the renewal conditions are the same as those for first-time record-filing.
