China Launches Campaign Against Copyright Infringement on Internet

The National Copyright Administration, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Public Security and the Cyberspace Administration of China have launched a special campaign targeting copyright infringement on the internet. Code-named “Sword Net 2020”, the campaign will run from June to October 2020 and its aims are as follows:
- Improve copyright enforcement and supervision
- Crack down on copyright infringement in areas such as audio-visual works, e-commerce platforms, social media and online education
- Regulate copyright dissemination via online games, online music, knowledge sharing and other platforms
- Consolidate the governance results of online literature, animation, network drives and applications
- Increase online copyright infringement governance capacity.
