Shenzhen Revises Special Customs Supervision Measures to Boost Opening Up
17 June 2020
The Commerce Bureau of Shenzhen has introduced measures for the administration of special customs supervision areas. These are intended to expand opening up, co-ordinate international and domestic resources, promote the transformation and upgrading of the bonded sector, enable innovation in supervision practices, and produce special customs supervision areas that are in line with international practices. The measures are applicable to special customs supervision areas approved by the State Council in Shenzhen, including the Futian Bonded Area, the Shenzhen Export Processing Zone, the Qianhai Bay Bonded Port Area, and the Yantian Comprehensive Bonded Area.
Under the measures, investors in projects that conform to the settlement guidelines drawn up by relevant district governments may apply to set up business in the special customs supervision areas of their choice.
The measures took effect on 20 April and will remain in force for five years.
