Unified National Plan for Product Quality Inspection Issued

The State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) has issued its 2020 national plan for supervision and random sampling inspection of product quality. The plan aims to unify supervision of production and distribution of both online and offline businesses, as well as conduct random sampling inspections of products that arouse great public concern and products whose safety levels decline. Focus will be put on the testing of product attributes that concern people’s health and personal and property safety. The plan covers 131 types of products, including 15 types of daily and textile products, 30 types of electronic and electrical products, 16 types of light industrial products, 19 types of construction and decoration materials, two types of agricultural producer goods, 20 types of mechanical and security and safety products, seven types of electrical engineering materials and products, and 22 types of food-related products.
The SAMR will conduct national supervision and random sampling inspection on product quality in accordance with the random sampling inspection plan and announce the results to the public. Product quality violations will be dealt with in accordance with law.
