China Announces Five Technical Specifications on Pollutant Discharge Permits

The Ministry of Ecology and Environment announced on 30 March the issuance of five national environmental protection specifications (Announcement No. 23 [2020]). In order to improve the technical support system for pollutant discharge permits, guide and standardise the work of application and issuance of pollutant discharge permits for industrial furnaces and other pollutant discharge units, the ministry has approved and issued technical specifications for industrial furnace (HJ1121-2020), rubber and plastic products industry (HJ1122-2020), footwear manufacturing industry (HJ1123-2020), railway, ship, aerospace and other transport equipment manufacturing industry (HJ1124-2020) and rare and rare-earth metals smelting industry (HJ1125-2020).
