Young jewellery designers showcased their ability to blend Hong Kong’s heritage with a contemporary touch at the 25th Hong Kong Jewellery Design Competition. The seven winning designs were on display at the HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC).

Players in a buoyant industry flocked to Hong Kong for the Hong Kong Trade Development Council’s (HKTDC) twin jewellery shows, expecting strong sales over the next one to two years.

As a leading creative hub in Asia, Hong Kong is a natural design centre. And Mainland China, the factory of the world, is a natural outlet for Hong Kong’s design talents. China’s Anhui province, just inland of the Yangtze Delta, is eager to take on Hong Kong designs. The province is a rapidly growing smart manufacturing centre and Hefei is the site of the country’s first Advanced Technology Application and Promotion Centre.

A Hong Kong start-up, which introduced its cutting-edge extended reality (XE) technologies at FILMART earlier this year, will return in the next edition on 11-14 March 2024 to showcase innovative solutions and extend its presence in Mainland China to serve surging demand.

Good design addresses everyday problems, enriching people’s lives. Such design meshes with technology to disrupt markets.

Fashion industry players see Hong Kong as an ideal platform for launching brands and trading, and expect online sales to continue surging, a survey of apparel buyers and sellers shows.
