The E-Commerce Route into the US

The world’s second-largest online market is intensely competitive, presenting a challenge to businesses.

26 April 2021

WHAT: The COVID‑19 outbreak has led businesses to embrace e‑commerce as the key channel for domestic and overseas sales – including to the United States, the world’s second-largest online market. In a bid to help Hong Kong exporters better understand the huge potential of this mature market, this webinar will detail the fast-changing e-commerce landscape of the US, while also providing key insights into securing success within its particularly competitive environment.

WHEN: 15 June, 15.00 – 16.00

WHO: Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC)

WHY: Speakers will include Charlotte Man, Economist (Global Research) at the HKTDC. Responsible for North and Latin American market development research, Ms Man also provides key insights into a broad range of product and service sectors, including textiles, leather goods, jewellery, gifts and premiums, toys, design, and film and entertainment.

Andy Cheng, Senior Manager for Marketplace Development (Hong Kong & Taiwan) at eBay, will also address the webinar. With more than 10 years’ experience of cross-border trade and e-commerce operations, Mr Cheng advises Hong Kong and Taiwanese merchants on effective sales techniques for a range of products, including electronics, fashion, healthcare and beauty, bike parts and collectibles. He also offers consultancy on platform policy, shipping and merchandising, as well as providing big-data analysis to help clients succeed in e-commerce.
