WHAT: The next webinar in the “T-box X Google Tools” series will examine trends and challenges in the Vietnam market. The speaker is Bailey Zhang, International Growth Consultant of Google’s APAC International Growth Team based in Shanghai. Apart from sharing insight, he will also introduce the Google Trend tool which compares market trends and discovers potential competitors for the user, helping small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) sharpen marketing strategy and find export opportunities. At Google, Mr Zhang provides market insight and export strategies for SMEs and advertising agencies eyeing overseas expansion. Prior to joining Google, he partnered in a start-up to publish entertainment, gaming, and tools apps to the North American and Southeast Asian markets. He has more than seven years of consulting experience in various positions at Huawei, PwC and the World Bank. Mr Zhang holds a master’s degree in International Economics from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.

WHY: Vietnam has the fastest-growing economy in Southeast Asia and online sales-related Google queries increased six times between 2016 and 2020, the quickest query volume growth in the region. E-commerce is growing rapidly in Vietnam, alongside strong growth across most sectors except travel. The digital economy is expected to reach US$52 billion in 2025. The long-term outlook for Vietnam’s economy is more robust than ever.
