Mexico Renews AD Duty Orders on Steel Pipe and Tableware and Kitchenware. Mexico’s Ministry of Economy recently issued the final results of its sunset reviews of the AD duty orders on mainland Chinese (1) seamless steel pipe classified under HTSMX 7304.19.01, 7304.19.04, 7304.19.99, 7304.31.01, 7304.31.10, 7304.31.99, 7304.39.01, 7304.39.05 and 7304.39.99; and (2) ceramic tableware and kitchenware classified under HTSMX 6911.10.01 and 6912.00.01. The ministry decided to renew these orders for an additional five years and maintain the AD measures on subject merchandise, specifically AD duties of US$1,568.92 per metric tonne (steel pipe) and US$2.61 per kilogramme (tableware and kitchenware).
Canada Begins Sunset Review of AD/CV Duty Orders on Rebar. Canadian authorities have begun an expiry (i.e., sunset) review of the AD and CV duty orders on certain mainland Chinese hot-rolled deformed steel concrete reinforcing bar in straight lengths or coils, commonly identified as rebar, in various diameters up to and including 56.4 millimetres, in various finishes, excluding plain round bar and fabricated rebar products, classified under HTSCA 7213.10.0000, 7214.20.0000, 7215.90.0090 and 7227.90.0090. The Canada Border Services Agency will accept questionnaire responses and other information from interested parties through 16 January and will issue its determination by 7 May. In the event of a positive determination, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal will determine by 14 October whether the continued or resumed dumping or subsidising is likely to result in injury or retardation. The CITT will hold a public hearing in connection with this review on 4 August.
