Four Hong Kong Hospitals Approved to Conduct Mainland-Valid Clinical Drug Trials
21 May 2019
The Hong Kong Sanatorium and Hospital’s oncology department has been accredited as a duly-qualified clinical drug trial institution and may now undertake mainland-valid National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) approved clinical drug trials on behalf of applicants seeking official drug registration. The granting of this status was announced on 29 April in a joint statement from the NMPA and the Hong Kong Department of Health.
In an additional move, three further Hong Kong hospitals – the Prince of Wales Hospital, the Queen Mary Hospital and the Hong Kong Eye Hospital – have successfully completed their statutory clinical trial review and have been approved to continue conducting NMPA-sanctioned clinical drug trials.
