Argentina to Ban Imports of Halogen Lamps
10 January 2019
Argentina has expanded its current ban on the sale and importation of general purpose residential incandescent lamps to cover all types and models of halogen lamps, effective 31 December 2019. The Argentinean government has the authority to issue any necessary measures to facilitate the importation of inputs, components, parts and equipment required for the production of low energy consumption lamps and LED technology, including by providing duty-free or reduced duty treatment to any such items especially if there is no sufficient domestic production to meet demand.
