Brazil Unveils New Strategy for Agricultural Exports
03 January 2019
Brazil’s Foreign Trade Chamber (CAMEX) approved on 21 December 2018 a new strategy to open and expand foreign markets and engage in the international promotion of Brazilian agricultural products. Developed over the course of the past year by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply’s Secretariat of International Relations in co-ordination with the Inter-American Institute for Co-operation in Agriculture, the strategy sets forth a medium- to long-term vision with five strategic foundations, 23 directives and 69 actions that will guide public action in the international agribusiness trade. It is yet to be seen whether the new Bolsonaro administration will embrace this strategy or develop a potentially more ambitious approach of its own.
