Argentina Adopts New Safety Requirements for Aluminium Radiators

Argentina has established new mandatory safety requirements for aluminium radiators and elements or sections thereof used in hot water or vapor heating systems. Subject merchandise must comply with the provisions of the following standards, with certain exceptions: UNE EN 442-1:2015 – Radiators and convectors - Part 1: Specifications and technical requirements; UNE EN 442-2:2014 - Radiators and convectors - Part 2: Test methods and evaluation – Part 4.3, Annex K; and IRAM 19008 – Radiators and convectors for space heating – testing in chamber refrigerated by liquid. The regulation also sets production, labelling and marking requirements for these products, as well as requirements for installation, use and maintenance manuals.

Importers and domestic producers of subject merchandise have until 2 October to submit proof to the relevant authorities that they have begun the process to certify their products in accordance with certification System 5. No later than 31 December, importers and domestic producers must ensure that their products comply with all applicable requirements by submitting to the relevant authorities a certified copy of the certificate issued by an authorised conformity assessment body.
